Rajasthan Contract Bridge Association along with Bridge Federation of India to host 64th Winter Bridge Championship 2022
Jaipur, 05 December, 2022: The Rajasthan Contract Bridge Association under the auspices of Bridge Federation of India, today announced that it would host the 64th edition of Winter Bridge Championship 2022, at Sawai Man Singh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, between 3rd December and 12th December, 2022. BFI is the apex governing body of the game of contract bridge in India, recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. Of India.
All participating players should go through and abide by the tournament SCoC, which was circulated on the BFI web site www.bfi.net.in andEntries for all events started from 10th Nov 2022.
The schedule of the championship will be as follows – Team of Four – Ashok Ruia Gold Event (Ranking Point event); Team of Four – Ashok Ruia Silver Event; Shree Cement (Gold) Match Point Pairs ( Ranking Point event); Shree Cement (Silver) Match Point Pairs; Open IMP Pairs – Late Shri MurliDeora Memorial Trophy; Ashok Ruia Mixed IMP Pairs (Ranking Point event); Ashok RuiaWomen IMP Pairs (Ranking Point event); Ashok Ruia Seniors IMP Pairs (Minimum age should be 60 years) and Side Pair events (Depending on no. of entries – Min 24 Pairs a must)
Participation in this tournament is open to all resident bridge players of Indian Nationality. Teams with one or more non-resident Indian bridge player(s) or with foreign players is also eligible to participate. However, the non-resident Indian / foreign player or an Indian resident player partnering a non-resident Indian / foreign player will not be eligible for the ranking points in any of the ranking point events. All Indian players participating in the championship should be registered under BFI Master Point Scheme.Teams participating in Ashok Ruia Gold / Ashok Ruia Silver Trophy can have a minimum of four and maximum of 6 players in the team.
In the Ashok Ruia Silver teams, maximum two player of the team can be of the rank of National Masters or above and they should not be playing as a partnership. Rest should be of below the rank of National Master.For Ashok Ruia Gold / Silver teams, each player has to play a minimum 25% of the boards at each stage of the tournament.
There is no rank restriction for participation in the Shree Cement Pairs Open IMP Pairs / Ashok RuiaMixed IMP Pairs/ Ashok Ruia Mixed Women IMP Pairs.TRIOS are not allowed in any of the Pairs event.There will be Carry over at every stage of elimination to final round in the Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs. However, there will be no carry over given to those who qualify to play in the Shree Cement Silver MP Pairs.
The total prize of the event is Rs8.65 Lacs. For Ashok Ruia Gold, the total prize is of Rs3,30,000, for Ashok Ruia Silver, the prize amount is Rs. 1,65,000, for Shree Cement Gold MP Pairs, the prize is Rs. 73,000, for Shree Cement Silver – MP Pairs, the prize is Rs39,000, for Late Shree MurliDeora Open IMP Pairs, Rs 53,000, for Ashok Ruia Mixed IMP Pairs, Rs68,500, Ashok RuiaWomen IMP Pairs, Rs68,000 and Ashok Ruia Seniors IMP Pairs, Rs. 68,500.
