Making a first, Army Public School Jaipur starts skilling course in summer holidays
Jaipur, May 21: Making a first in the field of skill education, the Army Public School Jaipur, in association with Army Wives Welfare Association, Sapta Shakti Command, on Monday launched a skill-based course in the media segment during summer vacations for students.
While different schools in the current academic session are organising summer camps, the Army Public School has made a first in launching this media skill based course going in line with New Education Policy 2020.
“AWWA in association with APS and Saksham Sanchar Foundation, on Monday, launched the three month Media masterclass programme in which students will be empowered to turn into entrepreneurs, influencers, media men, and so on.”
“The idea is to train students to learn stories catering to art, craft, culture, tourism, historical assets and so on. The students have been using mobiles, however, if they learn the art of mobile journalism, they can do wonders in their fields, the idea is to give them direction for using mobile phones cautiously and for a reason, said Ravindra Nagar, spokesperson Saksham Sanchar Foundation. Around 400 students on May 9 attended the career counseling session held in Sapta Shakti Auditorium in which Saksham Sanchar Foundation filtered around 60 students. In fact, 7 Army wives have also enrolled for the programme. Our idea is to empower Army wives, war widows along with students, said Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Geetanjali Bahl, Chairperson education, South Western Command said “The media education by Saksham Sanchar Foundation will help students choose their desired career in multiple fields and build upon skills to shape their future”.
School principal Gayatri kulshreshtha said, “NEP has been talking about skill and skill based education has become necessary in present times. Passing out 12th and graduation is just not enough and you need to have a strong skill besides and hence we have launched this course.”
The programme stands unique as there will be classes outside the classroom where students will be taken to some renowned places where veterans from the media field will teach them on script writing, video making, story writing and so, said Dimple Arora, course coordinator of Saksham Sanchar Foundation.
