H.G. Infra’s commendable efforts towards environmental protection: Planting of 18,000 trees in Jodhpur
Jodhpur, 06 February 2025: Taking a significant step towards environmental protection and sustainable development, HG Infra Engineering Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is launching a massive Miyawaki afforestation campaign under the “HG Green Drive” project at Jakhan village, Osian tehsil of Jodhpur district.
The project is being implemented by Innovative Governance Reforms Federation (IGRF), the implementing agency of HG Foundation. Under this initiative, 18,000 saplings will be planted and nurtured for two years using the Miyawaki method. This dense and fast-growing forest will promote local biodiversity and strengthen environmental sustainability.
Tarun Sharma, CSR Manager, HG Foundation said that HG Green Drive is a CSR campaign. Under the project, 1,00,000 plants were successfully planted last year on 5 June 2024 (World Environment Day) and the Foundation has further increased its efforts and set a target of planting 1,10,000 plants this year, starting from 5 June 2024, World Environment Day.
This initiative will significantly contribute to greening the dry landscape of the area, promoting water conservation and providing oxygen and shade.
IGRF Director Dr. Vijay Vyas said that this innovative effort will not only improve soil quality but will also help in promoting carbon absorption and restoring ecological balance. Which will also benefit local villagers, farmers and wildlife, and create a healthy and sustainable environment.
Prakash Vyas, former Sarpanch of Village Jakhan and President of Jai Ambe Maa Gaushala Committee, said that this initiative of H.G. Infra is another big step towards a green future. “Every tree planted lays the foundation for our sustainable future – because a thriving environment is the collective responsibility of all of us.”
